Description
Hi!
According to the instructions on
https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Mirror_infrastructure i wanted to
create a openSUSE mirror
Unfortunetely i am unable to rsync from rsync.opensuse.org.
@ERROR: access denied to opensuse from repo1.uibk.ac.at (138.232.17.97)
Other rsync mirrors listed on https://mirrors.opensuse.org/ are old and
not updated (e.g. lagis Internet Serviceprovider)
Is the Mailing List mirror@opensuse.org still in use, can i subscribe?
cheers

Yes, and yes ;-)
(For everything else, I'll let Per answer.)

After the crash last year, I'll have to double check the status of rsync.opensuse.org. For now, it looks like it is working:
rsync --list-only rsync://rsync.opensuse.org
This is rsync.opensuse.org, public rsync server of openSUSE.org,
limited to 50 connections.
If you run a public mirror, please get in contact so we can give you
access to the stage rsync server.
You'll find conditions for access and further information at
http://en.opensuse.org/Mirror_Infrastructure
Thanks!

I receive the list, that's right. But i am unable to fetch the rsync module "opensuse".
The error:
@ERROR: access denied to opensuse from repo1.uibk.ac.at (138.232.17.97)
Please open up the access to this rsync module since this host is intended as a public rsync server.
thanks

Hi Thal
as you can tell from the module listing, the "opensuse" module is for our internal use only. Please just use one of the mother modules,
whichever fits your purpose best.

Hello!
6 modules - 1 is "private" for the scanner, and 5 others which are really huge.
It does make sense to offer a module with less requirements in volume.
Can you provide that? I will happily update documentation in that case ;)

We would normally offer the 'hotstuff' modules, those are more reasonable in size, 30-640Gb, but they are currently not being generated. (there is an open issue).
I suggest you use 'opensuse-full-really-everything' and add excludes for those things you don't want.
