action #18652
closed[tools][sles][functional] The worker daemons on "xgene2" do not take care if they are under control of the webui and do not die when that happens
0%
Description
observation¶
The webui (https://openqa.suse.de/admin/workers) shows its workers online. See screenshot webui_workui.png.
In the machine xgene2, the journal logs of the worker shows that the worker is no more under control, but the daemon is still running. See screenshot journal_log_worker.png
The lost of control happened by the time the workers have been being updated (openqa-worker).
steps to reproduce¶
Not known steps to reproduce.
problem¶
H1 The process of updating the workers does not work for xgene2.
H1.1 The machine xgene2 is not updated (openqa-worker).
H1.2 The workers on xgene2 are not restarted after the update.
suggestion¶
E1.1-1 Inspect if xgene2 is included on the list of configured machines by salt.
R1.1-1 It is not included because the machines are not stable enough to install/deinstall a lot of packages.
workaround¶
- Restart the first worker daemon manually. (it has to be consulted with testing channel on IRC)

Manually restarting workers until Santi gets back from being sick
Too many packages and too much risk of breaking if we salted or updated it.

Workers on xgene2 can be restarted and are properly showing up in the webui
