Description

Observation

openQA test in scenario opensuse-Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-update_13.1-gnome@64bit fails in
firefox_audio
consistently showing a white screen and no audio output

Reproducible

Fails reproducibly every job in this scenario

Expected result

Last good: (unknown)
Looking on https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/376301?arch=x86_64&distri=opensuse&machine=64bit&version=Tumbleweed&flavor=DVD&limit_previous=400&test=update_13.1-gnome#previous I can not find any example where this worked

Problem

  • H1 wrong soundcard is default due to upgrade
  • H2 soundcard is set to mute or 0% volume due to upgrade

Suggestion

Check aplay -l or alsamixer and compare to working setups.

Further details

Always latest result in this scenario: latest

This is an autogenerated message for openQA integration by the openqa_review script:

This bug is still referenced in a failing openQA test: update_13.1-gnome

I just booted the 13.1 image (PRE updating) and audio is already MUTED there. So I'd argue the issue is on the 13.1 disk image: the update process itself is not supposed to change the audio volume.

Potential solution would be to re-upload a 13.1 disk image with audio not muted

can you just boot the image, unmute, shutdown?

:(

Updated disk image with audio unmuted prior to updating seems not to have helped, and it was such an obvious thing that was wrong to start with.

  • Status changed from New to In Progress

After a couple days the uploaded disk image seems now being used (maybe some caching kept on using the old image?)

anyway: current test run seems ok:
