Description
in https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1009472#c20
it is suggested to create a new issue to track the update of PowerPC openQA workers of openqa.o.o
as per PR https://github.com/os-autoinst/os-autoinst/pull/660
at least on December 17th 2016, the workers are still using eatmydata tool:
https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/323296/file/autoinst-log.txt
This new issue is replacing the https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/15548
said to be created in wrong project.

Now as I can read the content I am not sure if any openQA person can solve it. The machine running the tests is called "power8" and it currently has SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 installed. Generally for openQA tests we use a current Leap installation now so I assume this might be a problem here. I heard a rumor that the opensuse admins want to handle the systems running the openQA workers and do not want openQA admins to interfer. I fear this ticket will hang like forever until a lot of talking and convincing is done to get the "admin workflow" right.

What is the status of this issue ?
as per irc there were changes made on power8 workers (Leap 42.2 installed) and some problems of ssh.
The power8 workers are still reported as dead, at least a configuration problem as per issue
https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/16578 (missing QEMU=ppc64)
and may be also related to other issue
https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/16380 (workers dying like flies)
