Hi Pablo,
you are currently subscribed to these two lists:

mailman=> select list_id,bounce_score from address,member where address.email='pj.opensuse@gmx.com' and address.id=member.address_id;
         list_id | bounce_score
--------------------------+--------------
 users.lists.opensuse.org | 0
 admin.lists.opensuse.org | 0
(2 rows)

I am not sure what you need us to do?

Thank you for your response! I would like to send you a screenshot of
the issue I am encountering during mailing list login attempts with my
email address of pj.opensuse@gmx.com.

I created an openSUSE pastebin here:
https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/3511008ecc7f

I cannot login to change which mailing lists I am subscribed to at all
(see above paste). I believe it happened a while back when I went to
change my email address and something with the mailman3 got stuck. I was
able to login easily before no problems at all.

Also the following message is reported when attempting to send a
legitimate email to the list asking for help with this situation.

Your message to the openSUSE Users mailing-list was rejected for the following
reasons:

The message is not from a list member

The original message as received by Mailman is attached.

What is the best way to get help with my login situation with the
various openSUSE mailing lists?

-Thanks

Do you think that you may be able to delete my pj.opensuse@gmx.com
mailing list account so I can start over? I would like to subscribe to
more openSUSE related lists if I can. I cannot login so that I can
select more or less lists. I also have a mailing list account with my
other email pj.world@gmx.com that I cannot seem to login to either. I
would only like to create a mailing list account using
pj.opensuse@gmx.com. My logins always get stuck at when the mailing list
website asks for my OpenID and I do not have one.

The forums work fine with the pj.opensuse@gmx.com email account. I asked
for help there last evening and there was no problem with the forum
message getting through.

I am sorry for causing problems. I can no longer even read the emails
from the list or take notes. I have been feeling bad about this.

-Thanks

Just wondering - how exactly do you login? The text in your screenshot indicates that you use the openID way. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

I'd recommend to login with your openSUSE account: https://lists.opensuse.org/accounts/login/?next=/archives/ -> click openSUSE

BTW: You can also subscribe to a mailinglist by sending a mail to users-join@lists.opensuse.org (replace users with the name of the list you want to subscribe)

Thank you again for your response. I attempt to login at the same
website link that you provided. I do select openSUSE (far left of the
other options). I then enter my username 'panorain' and then my password
(I can provide my openSUSE password to you if needed, it is independent
of other websites). The OpenID login page is then shown (same as in the
screenshot I attached prior). At that point I have no idea how to
proceed, it's stuck, I have tried various passwords. To be honest
previously before I had this problem I do recall looking around my
openSUSE mailing list settings and possibly ticking use OpenID. I should
never have done that if I did because things were working fairly well
with my ability to manage various list subscriptions through the UI.

-Thanks again for your help.

  • Status changed from Feedback to New

According to the mailman database, you appear to be subscribed:

mailman=> select list_id,bounce_score from address,member where address.email='pj.opensuse@gmx.com' and address.id=member.address_id;
         list_id | bounce_score
--------------------------+--------------
 users.lists.opensuse.org | 0
 admin.lists.opensuse.org | 0
(2 rows)

However, using the webui, and I don't find your address.
Interestingly, you are listed as non-member for users.lists and admin.lists. I'm going to delete those two entries.
I guess there is some other status in the member table that I should be looking at.

I just received a bugzilla bug report 1185542 at pj.opensuse@gmx.com
this morning from a bug I reported a while back. Just to keep you
informed of the latest status attempting to login to the mailing lists
here.

This morning attempting to login at
https://lists.opensuse.org/accounts/login/?next=/archives/ results in
the following shown in screenshots at susepaste:

  1. Screenshot attempting to login by clicking the openSUSE login button
then entering my username and password. ->
    https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/10c461153752

  2. Then the website transfers me to an OpenID login form, once completed
    the following is displayed. ->
    https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/36af85872517

  3. Is it possible my login credential status in the member table is
switched to use OpenID and not openSUSE mailing list login perhaps?

I would like to thank everyone for your ongoing assistance with this
ticket.

  1. Are you able to remove/delete/clean/erase pj.openSUSE@gmx.com from the openSUSE login mailing list completely? I would like to setup this email address in the near future again if possible.

Apart from the login issue, there really should be no problem using that email address for subscriptions.

  1. It seems a new openSUSE mail list account using pj.opensuse0@gmx.com isn't so desired to me. <---- Although this looks like my alternative to a new mailing list (entity/identity): example - pj.openSUSE0@gmx.com account which supports webGUI correct?

Email addresses are case insensitive, but I'm not sure about the mailman account.

1a. Would creating a new email address say pj.openSUSE0@gmx.com allow me
to use the openSUSE mailing list webGUI once again?

Yes, probably.

  1. Could you give me a printout/list of the openSUSE mailing lists which I can currently subscribe to with pj.opensuse@gmx.com now once again please?

Well, excluding some private lists, that is all of our lists. I am certain you will be able to subscribe, just not via the web interface.

  1. Please correct me if I am wrong but at this time there are no openSUSE mailing lists that pj.openSUSE@gmx is subscribed to on your end correct?

That is correct. Neither pj.openSUSE@gmx nor pj.opensuse@gmx are subscribed to any lists.

mailman=> select list_id,bounce_score,role from address,member where address.email='pj.openSUSE@gmx' and address.id=member.address_id;
 list_id | bounce_score | role
---------+--------------+------
(0 rows)

mailman=> select list_id,bounce_score,role from address,member where address.email='pj.opensuse@gmx' and address.id=member.address_id;
 list_id | bounce_score | role
---------+--------------+------
(0 rows)

3a. This will then allow me to sign up to openSUSE mailing lists once
again correct?

TMK, that was never a problem, except via the web interface.

pj, I've deleted your account in mailman, I hope that might clear up things. Let me know.

Thanks for deleting my account using pj.opensuse@gmx.com in mailman. Now
when I attempt to create a new openSUSE mailing list account here:
https://idp-portal.suse.com/univention/self-service/#page=createaccount

I am then told that my chosen username of panorain already exists. I
have taken a screenshot of this and attached it to this email:
https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/abeb6c566fdd

Previously some time ago I created a mailing list subscription with my
pj.world@gmx.com email account this is possibly the reason I am still
receiving an error for new account creation using panorain as username.

I am able to login to the openSUSE forums using username panorain
without incident

  1. Are you also able to completely delete pj.world@gmx.com from mailman?

  2. Are you able to delete any accounts mailman shows associated with the
username panorain? Will this affect my login ability to the openSUSE
forums which function fine currently using username panorain with email
    address pj.opensuse@gmx.com?

-Thanks
