closedOBS Project/User name case sensitivity
100%
Description
Hi,
I know this is probably trivial, but...for some reason, my home project
on OBS has an upper case spelling of my username "homoe:Golanv",
instead of my prefered "home:golanv". I can use either variation to
log in. Is there anyone I can contact to get this set to an all lower-
case version of my username in all cases (including my home project)?
Also, on OBS, under the "Create Project" page, there is a suggetion to
send emails to noreply@opensuse.org if a project outside the home
project (or a home project with a different name) is needed. This is
probably a mistake, since noreply@opensuse.org bounces back.
Thanks!

I can see that the "Golanv" username appears in our authentication backend and we might be able to change it to lower-case, but it might happen that other openSUSE services use case-sensitive usernames and then you could be locked out of these.
We can just try it and revert if it does not work. OK?

That sound good to me. Please proceed!
Thanks!

That looks like it did the trick! Thanks a lot! I know this is a very small
issue. I really appreciate you taking the time to make this change.
Thanks.

- Status changed from New to Resolved

and for the record, if we ever need to do it again, this is how the change worked:
dn: uid=Golanv,cn=users,dc=suse,dc=de
changetype: modify
replace: uid
uid: golanv
cat poo104157.ldif | ldapmodify -x -H ldapi://
