Looking the mailman bounce logs for December, 485 subscribers were disabled, of which 476 were gmail addresses, one was a suse.de and three were probably genuine bounces.
I think I'm going to experiment with a mass-resubscribe, by dropping join requests into the queue on mailman3.

openSUSE admin - tickets #152464 (Feedback): overly zealous egress filteringhttps://progress.opensuse.org/issues/1524642023-12-12T09:01:50Zpjessenper@computer.org

Whilst investigating #152071, I tried resolving some names via Google's public DNS, 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4. No luck. Of course the same with cloudflare and quad9. IPv6 didn't work either.
Topic for discussion - aren't we being a little too zealous with the egress filtering?

openSUSE admin - tickets #152071 (In Progress): mx2::postfix unknown[2a03:7520:4c68::29] - why do...https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/1520712023-12-05T10:28:57Zpjessenper@computer.org

This is very minor, but still.
In mx2::postfix,
2a03:7520:4c68::29
does not seem to resolve. Postfix does a reverse lookup, then a forward lookup.
Using host, it works fine:

mx2 (mx2.o.o):~ # host 2a03:7520:4c68::29

openSUSE admin - tickets #151222 (New): mail queue maintenancehttps://progress.opensuse.org/issues/1512222023-11-21T09:03:12Zpjessenper@computer.org

I was working on anna and noticed some odd errors in the log. There 209 mails queued up, not in itself unusual.
Some of them are unusual or at least indicative of a poor mail config:

Queue id BD05620CAE:

I presume this is some relatively innocent & temporary migration fall-out, but again, maybe cron-reports ought to go to admin-auto?

There were also a few bounces by 'smtp-in12.suse.de' due to unknown addresses: aduffeck@suse.de, coolo@suse.de, dmacvicar@suse.de. I have unsubscribed from the respective mailing lists.

ariel.suse-dmz.opensuse.org ? I guess the postfix config on openqa needs some tlc? Please change the ticket title as appropriate.

openSUSE admin - tickets #151213 (Rejected): two PTR records for 172.16.164.159https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/1512132023-11-21T08:32:51Zpjessenper@computer.org

I presume this is a mistake - having two PTR records is possible, but makes no sense. It doesn't really hurt either, but anyone using the reverse mapping will be given
legacy-ip.mailman3.infra.opensuse.org
or
mailman3.infra.opensuse.org
, alternating.

openSUSE admin - tickets #139289 (New): mailman3 cannot talk to mx2https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/1392892023-11-11T09:26:15Zpjessenper@computer.org

I'm guessing this is also fall-out from the ongoing migration?
On mailman3, the mail queue has 30-40 messages that cannot be delivered to mx2 due to "Permission denied".
Trying to ping mx2:

mailman3 (lists.o.o):~ # ping6 2001:67c:2178:8::35

From 2a07:de40:b27e:1203::3 icmp_seq=2 Destination unreachable: Administratively prohibited

When mx2 has been moved, I expect this to clear itself up, but I'm logging it just in case.

openSUSE admin - tickets #139280 (Resolved): infra vpn - no ip address is being allocatedhttps://progress.opensuse.org/issues/1392802023-11-10T10:41:42Zpjessenper@computer.org

Unable to connect to the infra vpn - I am sure someone is already aware, but just in case.

openSUSE admin - tickets #138950 (Closed): progressoo - ipv6 no connectionhttps://progress.opensuse.org/issues/1389502023-11-01T11:29:15Zpjessenper@computer.org

I see that progressoo has been moved:

per@office68:~> host progressoo.infra.opensuse.org
progressoo.infra.opensuse.org has address 172.16.164.139
progressoo.infra.opensuse.org has IPv6 address 2a07:de40:b27e:1203::b17

Right now I am unable to log in over that IPv6 address, I can't even ping it. It just means 'ssh progressoo' taking a long time. Shouldn't
2a07:de40:b27e:1203::b17
be reachable over the vpn?

openSUSE admin - tickets #138938 (New): mailman3 - some unknown domainshttps://progress.opensuse.org/issues/1389382023-11-01T09:34:16Zpjessenper@computer.org

I'm just logging this in case someone complains later - on mailman3, there are 324 mails in the queue. This is is not a major issue, but some of them are "Domain not found" and have been going on for months. I am not really sure why they don't result in bounces much earlier.

openSUSE admin - tickets #138935 (Resolved): anna is relaying internal email ?https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/1389352023-11-01T08:48:46Zpjessenper@computer.org

Whilst looking at how I screwed up #138290 , I noticed that anna is relaying mails to e.g.
progress/oo.infra.opensuse.org
. That is the only internal server anna has sent something to, since July 26 (only logs available till then).

I don't think anna should be relaying anything internally.
Whilst on that topic, anna is having trouble doing that anyway:
